Photo November Day 30: My fat

I have no idea how to take a photo of my fat, because I don't want to cut myself open... :P

So here is a pile of chicken fat instead. It's mine, mind you!

I bet Ezy is regretting bringing me to the "chicken killer" Malay rice...because that was where I took this photo! I wonder whether he figured out what the photo was for when he saw me taking it! Hehe...

(The "chicken killer" fried chicken was really very good...though I have no idea why they call it that. The shop's name is Cargas...sounds like a car repair shop actually... :| )

Photo November Day 29: Sports

I really don't want to take another photo of badminton racquets or shuttlecocks...so here is something else!

football shirts

Impressive collection, huh? ;P (not mine, let's be clear...) Can you name all the teams?

Photo November Day 28: Ugly truth

Warning: this is gonna be really ugly!!

(I even delayed an extra day to see whether I could find something less ugly, but I couldn't...and since the last day of the challenge is tomorrow, I should get this done!)

So if you're brave enough, you may scroll down...don't say I didn't warn you!

Do you REALLY want to see this??

Okay, so be it...

My feet are different sizes...about a size apart. -_-

Proton has come out with a new model!

I haven't been writing very much lately. I've been posting photos for the photo challenge, but somehow I haven't been sitting down and actually writing a post. And this isn't going to be a long one, either. I want to share a couple of photos that I took while driving (or more like while stopping at a traffic light queue (I say "traffic light queue" instead of "traffic light" because I was never directly in front of the traffic light :P )), taken some time ago, actually.

I've just been busy with this and that, doing things (I don't really know what *scratches head*) and putting this off (Procrastinator! -_- )

Okay, so here they are.

I pass this board (I don't think it's a signboard, nor a billboard, so what do I call it??) every day on the way to work, and sometimes I stop right beside it. Once day I noticed that the girl seemed to be wearing the same blouse as the pink one hanging beside her...only in a different colour. I can't be really sure, though...so what do you think? :P

Then another day I saw this car, right in front of me.

Check out what's written on the back...it's a Mitsubishi! Did Proton release a new model?? lol

Okay, I'm well aware that it's a Proton masquerading as something else...if it were another car maybe I would have been tricked! (I'm really bad at recognising cars :/ )

And it reminds me of this car upgrade...hehe.

Photo November Day 27: Target

Did any of you play the Pokemon gameboy game?

We've got to catch 'em all! This time, the target is Pikachu!

A wild Pikachu appeared!

Go, safari ball!

Hehehe...

Photo November Day 26: Keys

I read somewhere that some people can make duplicate keys using photos of the keys, so I didn't capture the whole key! (Though I'm not sure whether that's true...)

Photo November Day 25: Something ugly

These overripe bananas are really rather ugly, aren't they? But they'll be so sweet when they are cooked ^_^

Photo November Day 24: Japanese culture

A sushi mat! I think this is the most Japanese thing that I have! lol

Photo November Day 23: Something red

A red mechanical pencil (but I don't really need to say that, do I? :P )

Photo November Day 22: My favourite outfit

I don't really have a favourite outfit...but yeah, t-shirt and shorts does it. Comfort is key! ;)

Photo November Day 21: Pyjamas

The person who set this theme went one step further, and set a condition: the pyjamas must be worn for the photo! So here you go...

It's time for bed...just kick back and relax! lol (not tonight, I mean...this was taken last night!)

Promise me...

With one pinky, a promise is sealed...

Or how else do you seal your promises?

Photo November Day 20: Hair

You want hair? There, you've got hair.

Photo November Day 19: Live show

A live show in the parking lot! lol

Please clap for "John Travolta", everyone...

Photo November Day 18: Revealing

Revealing the snacks I "redeemed" from my company!

There are more, but some are not in the fridge...

Photo November Day 17: Wheel

I was out of ideas, and was going to snap a photo of any wheels on the road (I was sitting in Peter's car), when he told me about this bus stop on Jalan Sungai Dua which had wooden seats with wheels on them. So I made a little detour to take a look...and here it is!

(the dustbins have nothing to do with the "wheel" theme, but I wanted to let you see the whole bus stop...)

I didn't bring my camera...or else I would have done a zoom to get a photo of the wheel alone. Oh well, too bad...

As for the other photos, I'm working on them...be patient! :P

The journey: Year 6

My sixth year in France, I didn't make that many trips, but I visited a lot of French towns/villages in one road trip (that will be at the end of the post). I guess it was because those one year my senior were leaving for home and wanted to make one last trip...and lucky for me, I happened to be free enough to join them.

But before we get to that road trip, here are the others!

September 2008: Vienna (Austria)

I went there right before classes started for a Minesweeper tournament, and took the chance to do some sightseeing!

in the grounds of Schonbrunn Castle

September 2008: Bratislava (Slovakia)

I made a day trip from Vienna with a few other fellow sweepers (and their non-sweeping companions :P ) There wasn't that much to see...or maybe because we had language problems :P

December 2008: Athens (Greece)

This was the biggest group trip ever! 13 Malaysians invaded Greece! lol

I don't think this needs an introduction...

December 2008: Santorini (Greece)

A little island that my friends told me was worth visiting (they planned the trip, I just followed on this one)

Santorini is my favourite place EVER among all those I've visited. It is simply a paradise...and to think that I almost didn't go on this trip...at first I complained that there were too many people!

July 2009: Road trip to the south of France

rapids at Roque-sur-Cèze

the Pont d'Arc, a natural arch at Vallon Pont d'Arc

Pont du Gard, a famous aqueduct

Aigues-Mortes, a fortified city (or village?)

Avignon, a rather large town (as opposed to the previous villages)

All in all, it was a great trip, with great weather!

Recap:
Sept 2008: Vienna
Sept 2008: Bratislava
Dec 2008: Athens
Dec 2008: Santorini
July 2009: Roque-sur-Cèze
July 2009: Vallon Pont d'Arc (Pont d'Arc)
July 2009: Pont du Gard

Photo November Days 14-16: Light, Stick, Precise

Have you heard the news about Pizza Hut's new pizza with 7 types of cheese? Before this they had one with 6 types of cheese (was there an earlier one with five, and even earlier four, ...and so on? I wonder...) So I suppose they were trying to do "bigger and better" than the older version.

To keep up with the trends (and maybe also the spirit of kiasu-ness lol), I shall upgrade too! Earlier I did a 2-in-1 combo, so now I'll upgrade it to 3-in-1! :P

What's light, can stick to your notebook and on top of that is precise?

A bookmark I got during my internship.

When I did my final year project, I received a notebook (together with other stationery) from the lab. It was a ring notebook and it came with a bookmark - the one you see in the photo (yeah, the blue one with the leaning tower of Pisa...I have no idea why they chose that image) The notebook had rings exactly like the one I'm holding in the photo, but was bigger...the size of the bookmark. So depending on which rings you fit the bookmark on, it can be completely inside the notebook, or sticking out a little (as illustrated on the bookmark itself). I thought it was cool so I kept the bookmark even after returning the notebook after my internship. (or did I throw the notebook away? lol) But I don't have a notebook of that kind now...so the bookmark is lying unused.

A dose of cuteness to fight away your Monday blues

I was at my computer when I looked across the room and saw this scene. It was so cute I decided to caption it. :P

Rabbit falls down.

Alaska Bear: Are you all right?

Winnie the Pooh: Is he okay?

Photo November Day 13: Mixture

When I cook a dish using pork belly, WW will cut off the skin and fat and throw it away. And I will go, "What a waste! That's the best part!" (yeah I love unhealthy stuff lol)

So nowadays I cook the same dish using a mixture of pork belly and lean pork meat. So that he can pick out the parts he likes and I can pick out the parts I like! Then we're both happy...

It's a win-win situation... ;)

Photo November Day 12: Shocking news

I've sure got some shocking news for you: Zaibo's grown hair!

See? :P (okay, that's most probably a wig)

I switched on the TV and saw this show called "Bahasa Biar Betul". And Zaibo was the Tuan Pengetua of the school!

Unsolved mysteries

A few days ago I received an sms from an unrecognised number (013-9462900, if you'd like to know). Here's the text of it:

Cinta sulaiman untk balqis,, kasih yusuf utk zulaika,,rindu adam utk hawa,,sayang muhammad utk khadijah...cinta,kasih,sayang n rindu.. awq utk spe..??

And it was in a mixture of capitals and small letters...which I did not want to reproduce (hurts my eyes -_- )

Somehow I don't think this was simply sent to a wrong number...but if it was a commercial thing, I wonder...what is it for?? Sometimes I receive commercial sms-es which tell me to call a certain number, but this doesn't. So that turns me back to the "wrong number" theory...but would you send this kind of sms? :s

Another unsolved mystery. Remember this one? If I get more, I should create a category for it. :P

Photo November Day 11: Future

The future of the glass at the back is right in front of it...

Well, sorta. How do you snap the future? I wanted to find an "opening soon" sign but didn't see one...

How to get people to go to church

I have this book which is a collection of strange articles or advertisements (even signposts), or those that have little mistakes in them. The other day I took it out and this caught my eye:

Translation:

Blow here! (beside the arrow)

If it turns green: go to a doctor immediately.
If it turns brown: to a dentist!
Violet: a psychiatrist.
Red: check your life insurance!
Black: call your lawyer and make a will!
If it stays white, you are in perfect health and nothing is preventing you from coming to church this Sunday.

What do you think? Ingenious? :P

Photo November Day 10: Childhood animation

Guardian is trying to cash in on the sentimental value of our childhood animations...

...and that's just one of the products using Doraemon!

But you know what? If these tissues and some other with plain packaging were at the same price, I would choose this...so I guess it's not a bad marketing strategy! Hehe...

But for now I still have my koala companions :P

Photo November Day 9: Computer table

What's special about a computer table?

Its keyboard tray...

Carrots

Someone used the phrase "But you know them ma". Right back at me.

Really, that's my line, you know.

But what she didn't know was that I didn't know a single one of them when I first went there.

It's amazing what some things, some carrots, can make you do...just tie 'em in front of the donkey.

Public space

Here's a public space for the Photo Friday challenge this week:

Penang airport

I took this when I went for my flight on Saturday.

Don't miss the two curved M's in the background...I made sure that got into the photo, because it's time E Z Y stopped hogging McD for his photos! :P (and those three links aren't all...there are even more on his blog! lol )

Photo November Day 8: Pointed

A pointed ear!

You should be able to guess whose ear it is... (nope, it ain't human, that much I can assure you ;P )

Photo November Day 7: Shared

You know a bathroom is shared when it has two doors...

Photo November Day 6: Achievement

Our family's achievements!

Nope, despite all the mentions of badminton on this blog, the badminton ones aren't mine! :P (check out the year on the Melaka one...)

Photo November Day 5 bonus photo!

I initially wanted to snap a photo of the drink I would receive on my flight, but I wasn't too sure that I would be receiving one... so to be on the safe side, I decided to get the challenge completed early.

However, I did get a drink on the flight...so here you go, as a bonus photo:

apple juice (the other choice was pink guava)

And there you have the two drinks I had (apart from plain water) that day ;)

Photo November Day 5: What I drink today

For breakfast...a cup of Horlicks!

I almost forgot that I wanted to take a photo, that's why the cup was no longer full when I snapped it...

(yeah I'm taking a break from Milo :P )

Photo November Day 4: Admirer

Yay, I found an admirer!

Though not my admirer, obviously. :P

admiring the stone lion sculptures...

A pair costs RM4000, they say. In case you want to buy them...

Photo November Day 3: Weapon

This is a good weapon...hard and heavy.

First you have to lift it up...then smash it onto someone's head. I'm sure it would be effective. (have I read too many murder mysteries? :P )

Of disciplining

The other day I don't know why but I suddenly thought of this nurse from hospital last time (the finger drama; it's in the archives of June/July 2010 somewhere)

It was after the second operation (removing the rods)...for some reason both times I needed to go to the bathroom right after the operation -_- (I hate bladder control lol) So after this operation they wheeled me back to my room and I got up and went to the bathroom.

Then the nurse came in, to ask me how I was, etc...and she was shocked to see me climbing back into bed. She said, "What? You already got up?" and proceeded to tell me off, saying "You shouldn't get up before we come to check on you, what if you had fallen down or something?"

And in the next breath (I think I didn't have any time to reply, even if I had wanted to) she went on, "But that is done now, nothing happened to you, so let's put it behind us." (or "let's not talk about it any more", something like that)

I liked that nurse! She was quite firm, and somehow managed to scold you, while at the same time not scolding you, if you know what I mean. The other day when I thought about this, I was thinking, "I will have to remember this if I ever have to handle children" (or students...hmm.)

And today the others were talking about children and all...which made me re-think of this.

Boys will be boys

This happened last week, I think...but I didn't get around to writing it down. I remember that I wanted to...but I guess I forgot about it when I got to my computer.

Anyway, it was at badminton (yep, good ol' badminton again :P )... and someone's racquet string broke. Let's call this guy A, and the other guy B. (I might have some parts slightly wrong due to faulty memory, but this is the gist of it...)

A: Does anyone have scissors? (for those who don't play, the string has to be cut because the uneven tension caused by one broken string could deform the racquet)

B: (getting out scissors) What if don't have?

A: If don't have, never mind lo...

A reaches out for B's scissors.

B: Did I say I want to lend it to you?

A: Don't want also never mind... (puts down racquet)

B: Nah, let you use it la...

A: I don't want to borrow it already...

Ho ho ho...it really sounds familiar... Does it sound familiar to you too?

(I can't remember whether A used the scissors in the end...but they're friends, so I trust there were no hard feelings!)

Photo November Day 2: Pillow

You've got the words, and you've got the thing itself. What else can you ask for? ;)

Fzah, just don't come rompak my house, 'kay? :P

Ring...ring...

Let's get this done early for a change.

I mean Photo Friday. This week's theme is wide angle, and here you go:

That's certainly a wide angle...and it's also the "phone" we played with as children! Ring...ring... Hello?

Photo November Day 1: Favourite pastime

Guess what? It's not gonna be badminton. lol

On a rainy day when you don't want to go outside, there's nothing better than settling down comfortably with a good book. ^_^ And these two are among my favourite French books. (I haven't got any English ones with me at the moment...they're all in Kuantan. I brought the French ones first because there was no use leaving them behind anyway...who'd read them?)

I've already mentioned Parce Que Je T'aime before, once while reading it, and again when I was itching for a good book. Nowadays I haven't got much time to read (I even stopped going to the public library), so I guess I don't need any books for now!
