Cannes

When we left Nice, we went to Cannes for half a day. There wasn't much to see there (as we had already heard), we walked along the coast a bit and went to the place where they hold the festivals. The photo is just me in front of the steps...we took a group photo there as well, but I haven't got it yet, I'll have to wait till my friend sends it to me, then I might put it here (or not :-P)

We also saw the handprints of stars, but there were a lot whom we didn't know. But I'm sure you all know this star whose handprint I put here :-P

After visiting Cannes we left for home. Two of my friends came back to Lyon with me to visit, they just left this morning (that's why I have time to write all this!)

Oh yeah, and in this post the photos came out in the right order. Goodness knows why. :-/

still Monaco...at the palace!

And of course we had to go to the palace and see them change guards... it was at exactly 11.55am. There were already quite a lot of people there when we arrived, since it's one of the major attractions.

After that we took a photo with a guard, he was actually on duty but there were a lot of people who were taking photos with him. Between photos, he had to open the gate for people to pass (that's how we knew that he was on duty, and not just there to take photos with tourists! lol) So we decided to make it quick and take a single photo with all of us in it.

I don't know why the photos are inversed, the bottom one should have been on top! Does anyone know how to make sure which photo comes first? (it worked fine in the last post)

Monaco

We went to Monaco for a day trip. One of my friends had friends studying in Nice, so we spent our nights in Nice and took the train to visit nearby towns. Monaco is about 20 minutes away from Nice (by train), so it was really convenient.

Of course we had to take photos in from of the casino (the first photo) You can't see the words very clearly here, but you can click on the photos to enlarge them. I still made them a bit smaller before uploading them (otherwise it would take ages with my super slow connection!) but they're bigger than what you have on this page.

The second photo was taken in a Japanese garden. We also went to the rose garden, but I won't post those photos here, hehe, if you want to see them you'll have to come see them on my computer ;-P

Vive les vacances!

The title of this post means "hurray for the holidays!" But somehow I find that the English version just doesn't sound very nice (it's a bit too long) :-P I'll spread my photos over several posts, I hope it looks better that way.

Well, in this post you have the photos of Nice. The waterfall is on a hill, and there was a lift going up...but we have to pay to use the lift! The price was 80 cents going up and 1.10 up and down. At first we thought that we would walk down after seeing the waterfall (and that on the way down we could see the sights), but it turned out that we had to walk a bit to get to the waterfall, and after that, since we didn't know how far it would be to walk down, we went back and took the lift. :-P And we didn't even pay for the down trip, when we reached the bottom we just walked out as if we had paid for a round trip when we entered (okay, we are bad, bad girls :-P)

And the beach...well, it's what Nice is famous for. I must say that I really like this photo I took; I think it captures the scenery quite well ;-)

Other than the beach and the waterfall, I didn't like the town of Nice very much, I found it slightly dirty and crowded (there was construction work in town, it might be partly because of that)
